Adverse weather

In the event of severe weather, including snow, please listen to Radio Heart and Radio Kent or visit their websites for news of the Pre-schools closure. The Pre-school may also close if acceptable staff to child ratio is not achieved due to the adverse weather.

Our Pre-school provides parents/carers with regular newsletters, to keep them well-informed of the activities taking place and of the day-to-day running. Letters will also come from your child's Room Leader to inform you of activities taking place specifcally in that room. Also information will be displayed on the general and room notice boards.

Fund raising

We are a non-profit organisation, so throughout we hold many fund raising activities including creating T-Towels with children's handprints or pictures, gift photographs and children's facepainting events.

Celebrations

In 2014 our Pre-school celebrated its 45th anniversary, since opening in 1969. Two ex-Gillingham footballers Andy Hessenthaler and Nicky Southall kindly joined us in our celebrations, where the children enjoyed some fun and games with them.

Emergency Closure

If a situation occurs either within or outside the building which is deemed dangerous to staff and children by the Supervisor, the Pre-school will be evacuated. If unable to return to the building, the children will be taken to Parkwood Community Centre, where parents/carers will be contacted for their collection. Regular fire drill practices take place and the fire alarm is tested weekly.
